Time to pretend
This song is really mainstream here in Portland. But I have found it so addicting. And it makes me really giddy and happy. I want to jump around like a 5 year old with her pink frilly princess dress on swinging it about just giggling. Dreaming about how I'm not going to work no damn office job when I get older. And marry myself a model and then OD on heroin or something.
Burn out don't fade away.

Oh, yeah--- everything must run its course.

<lj-embed id="23" />

Banksy hit New Orleans

Banksy has hit New Orleans for the third anniversary of Katrina. So any of you New Orleans peeps can get a chance go check them out and take pics do so now. There is someone named Grey Ghost in New Orleans painting over his stuff. If you know who this person is take his/her paints away from them immediately.

Banksy Rules!!!!!!!!!

He is actually touring the South and should have some of his work popping up randomly.

http://www.flickr.com/groups/banksydoesneworleans/

Big Wheel Fun

I want to do this REALLY bad. We don't have a Lombard St. but we do have a Mt. Tabor in Portland.

<lj-embed id="22" />

I'm now obsessing over my K.I.T.T. Knightrider big wheel I had when I was 9. I can't even find photos of one online now. One of the guys at my work brought in 2 new high tech big wheels for me and another girl to race at work. These even have handle brakes.

I wonder if I can ride one in the bike lanes here? Hmmm, I think I need to get some monkey bars & pimp my new ride. But I want one of the old Awooga horns too. Ooh,ooh, & one of those tall poles with a flag on it.

I wish it was Summer again--I can't wait for good weather to try this.

I took a Substance Abuse & Use class while in college. It was actually a very good class. My favorite topic was the history of drugs and how Sears use to sell Heroin kits. Or, the ad for Cocarettes is always classic.

Lust, lust, lust

Trying to post an entry here on LJ with embedded media and such. But LJ doesn't seem to like the LJ cut and embed more than one media thingy. So -- sorry if any of you got my obnoxious extra long posting of videos. So I'm only posting one. The man I'm lusting over and can't wait to see in a small venue here. I'll most likely get kicked out for throwing myself at him while he is on stage. Although, there is a good chance he may prefer the boys. My downfall -- effeminate men.
The future of photography

My B-day weekend was fun. I did so much I don't even know where to start. I purchased a Nikon D80 for my b-day present this year. And I take that camera out as much as I can. My new addiction is HDR photography. (High Dynamic Range). It is so much fun. It makes the pics you take look like the graphics for a lot of new computer animated films or video games. I won't go into scientific detail -- but you have to take the photos first. Three at different ranges of light exposure. And then use some fancy software that aligns them & then lets you tweak the saturation level. Voila!!!! My pics are below. And yes, I did take these pictures.
You want to see them larger go to my flickr account (I have to purchase the license of the software to remove the watermark). I'll get there. $$$$$$$$$

Panther Rowwrrr!!!!!!

The new popular trend is a man and his beatbox. Or insert woman where man is in previous line.

Well, it's not new, but becoming big again. There are a few of these one "man" bands here in Portland. One of them is the man called Panther. Even if you don't enjoy electronic music, this video rocks. You have to watch it all the way through to the end to make the experience whole. There is a bad word in here too kiddies. Just makes me want to run around yelling -- motherfucker -- but how he does it.

"You don't want yr nails done"

<lj-embed id="7" />

Bergman Days

I'm sure everyone knows Ingmar Bergman died. He lived a long life. And left behind some wonderful, influential films. My favorite Bergman film I had the pleasure of watching is The Virgin Spring-- being raised in a Roman Catholic environment most likely helps.

Tonight, I had even a greater joy, by watching the Bergman Days spoof by French & Saunders. (Saunders is Jennifer Saunders from Ab-Fab). This is the youtube outtake.Yes -- foreign film artsy fartsyness ensues. But, so, funny!(The one I watched from the actual French & Saunder DVD is longer.Also in Swedish with English subtitles. But couldn't find the one I watched.)
<lj-embed id="5" />

I took this pic a week ago. The bee is so cute. He looks kind of furry. But I don't think a bee would make a good pet. I'm going to get stung one day with all these botanical shots I'm doing. Especially as close as I'm getting to bees and spiders. (The original photo is below.)

A sole fetish

I worked for a plantation tour company while in New Orleans. During that time the Laura plantation had a pair of shoes on display. There was no right or left shoe. They were more or less like ballet shoes. While conversing with a co-worker today the subject came into conversation. I wanted to find out more on when shoes became fitted solely for left and right. Or is this still done in some countries? In my research I did not find an exact answer. Anyone???? But I did find some pictures of historical and recent shoes through history. One of my favorite is the Chopine. These would date around the 1600's. One source mentioned that venetian prostitues would wear these to make themselves of a more noticeable height. I could use the height, but not for the same reason. Links for fellow shoe fetish fiends Platform Diva and Shoe museum .
